Corpse Bride

I have been waiting for 12 years, Tim Burton's second stop-motion animation moive "Corpse Bride" released on last Thursday finally.

Tim Burton, I really impressed with his another movie "Big Fish" which was a wonderful story between a father and son. I missed his previous film "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Thus, once I saw the Corpse's poster at MTR station, I promised myself that I have to spare some time for it. This time, he created a mysterious, fun and lovely world not only for the death but also for humans of all ages.

The first Typhoon I met at Taiwan

Yesterday, I guess most of the students in Taiwan were happy as they had an extra holiday in their first school day.

The typhoon (sorry I don't know the name) was hitting the whole Taiwan Island directly and here at the Edu Park, I could feel how strong the storm was as well as the heavy rain.

The date before typhoon arrived, we have done so many things to defend it and was hoping to reduce the influence from the strong wind. This morning, we roughly counted that there are totally over 100 of trees have been affected and several facilities have been destroyed, as a results, today will be one of the most tired day :P.

Bliss and Wisdom Educational Park

Here I am, at Bliss and Wisdom Educational Park.

10 days have been passed and I am happy with the days here. I know some of you may interest in what we are doing at the Park so let me tell you our daily schedule:-

5:30am New day start
6:00am Breakfast (tasty orginic food)
7:00am Morning Briefing
7:45am Working Time (could be anywhere, any position in the Park)
11:45am Lunch Time (very tasty orginic food)
12:30pm Recharge Energy (zzzzzzz)
1:30pm Daily Meeting
2:15pm Working Time (wet wet wet)
5:30pm Dinner (extremly delicious orginic food)
7:10pm Evening class (only half an hour)
9:30pm Bedtime

I took some really nice pictures here but it's a shame that can't find a card reader, I'll try to share them with you later.....

This is a story about lost, loney and isolation......

Original story from Haruki Murakami's novel, I think the director has done a very great job in telling story. Not only the film atmosphere, but also the narrator's voice, carmera angels, background piano music, soft but touching scenes and the dialogue are extreamly match and smooth. This is a really good experience for me to read Murakami's novel in such way.

Flooding across Hong Kong

According to the wheather and news report, an average 223mm of rain was recorded yesterday. There were 155 flooding and 28 landslips reports were received by government....
It keeps raining for almost a week, I can't really remember that the rain has been stopped for a second in the past week. It's wet everywhere and so as the people. Basically, I never feel down in rainy days but I'm getting fed up with this bad wheather. Where are you Mr. Sun?

a tulip to my dear friends

Sorry that I have not had a chance to write the blog for a while even I've stayed at home for almost a week . I don't know why I cannot login Blogger with IE at OS X for couple of weeks and it really hassle me >_<.

Nothing special have happened in these couple of weeks but there were few things that really cheer me up:-

1) hurt my left ankle and got extra "holiday" :)
2) my friend approved to go India finally
3) received email from a good friend who just moved to Switzerland and have all settled down

On the other hand, some of my very good friends encounter very serious problems. I know there is nothing I can help but don't worry my friends, I'm sure it will pass through shortly and I'll always pray for you....

Heart Shrine Relic Tour

I visited an exhibition of Heart Shrine Relic Tour hosted by Mahayana Buddhist Association yesterday.

Hong Kong is one of the tour stop and these relics will be traveled all over the world for fund-raising of the Maitreya Project. The Maitreya Project is building a magnificent 500 ft statue of Maitreya Buddha locate at Kushinagar in northen India.

These holy relics have been donated by many living Buddhist Masters from different countries, including relics of Buddha which were offered by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. They will all be collected by Lama Zopa Rinpoche and placed in the Heart Shrine of the Maitreya Buddha statue. These relics are from authenticated sources and were the cremated remains of the Buddha and other revered Buddhist Masters such as Nagarjuna, Milarepa, Lama Je Tsongkahapam, His Holiness the First Karmapa and etc..

This is such an amazing experience to see so much precious relics at the same time and I truly hope that all beings will have chance to seeing them and receive blessings.

It is all about food

Can you imagine, how much times we actual spent in a meal? From shopping at the market, washing, cutting the stuff, cooking to serving on the table...., the whole process have not been finished, we still have to wash cutlery, digest and so on...

I do enjoy cooking, not only for my family and friends but I love to make something good for myself also. What I called tasty do not need complicated recipe, simple but nice seasonal ingredients (preferable in organic) can be very delicious as well.

I still remember when I stayed in London, my Japanese friends arranged sushi party once a month, with very simple ingredients, we can have fun time for whole evening. The ingredients included, a very very big bowl of sushi rice (rice with sushi vinegar), noni (seaweed) and big piece of raw fish (cut in small slices).

To start tuck in, just put the rice and fish on a piece of noni and dipped with wasabi and soy sauce. Everyone tried so hard to make the sushi roll as much filling as we can and finally "the thing" cannot really called "a roll".

I am a vegetarian now and no more sashimi sushi party will be joined, but I meet very good friends with same thought and we have big vegetarian feast all the time.......Yummy.

I become more and more happy recently.
Perhaps some of you might feel bizarre but I feel happier and alive since came back from the Buddhist camp in Taiwan and joined several activities hosted by our Buddhist group, Bliss & Wisdom. I can't really explain my feeling to others but I have a very clear mind and direction now, I know what I should do for my onward steps and face future with confidence. Hoping all of you have same feeling with me.

Nearly give up to fix my desktop, I am now working the blog with my iBook but it seems that there are problems with OS X also....Sigh...

Holidays with Art

Last weekend, I went to Western Market and visited Annie Wan's "Moulding World - A Summer in Denmark". One of my good friend, Siuyee told me that Annie stays in different countries every year to get inspiration for her artist works. Obviously, she stayed in Denmark and made the beautiful moulding with Danish Fish Cans, some of these mouldings were made with very interesting shapes and lovely names, can you imagine that they can sing or even have sex?

Last Sunday, got a free modern dance ticket from Steven, the program called "Bamboo Dream" and was presented by Cloud Gate, the most famous modern dance group in Taiwan . I never think about seeing any modern dance but after this wonderful experience, I have changed my mind and look forward to their next show.

PS: I'm sorry, I know my blog looks boring and I really want to upload some pictures.....however, my computer has yet been fixed and hopefully I will reorganize my blog within this weekend...sorry again

Hong Kong International Film Festival 2005

I know this is little bit late to talk about HKIFF , but this is my blog... and who cares.

This year, with very tight budget, I can only afford to see 9 films which included two from one of my favorite director, Abbas Kiarostami, another two "Hotel Rwanda" and "The People of Angkor" were introduced by a very good friend and of course I didn't missed my teenage favorite "Centre Stage", the rest moives were simply picked by viewing the catalogue. By the way, I don't like this year's catalogue at all as it's too 'bulky' to be carried around.

Surprisingly, my favorite one was not from Abbas, I was very impressed by an Uruguay black comedy film called "Whisky". The directors used simple expression and funny trick to reflect the loneliness of middle-age people, I did have a big laugh but feel quite upset after all, hope you all will have chance to see it in the future.

Someone told me that "Peacock" and "The Edukators" should not be missed, but sadly I missed them both ........

My home computer is out of order again, I feel very frustrating. Hope that the problem can be fixed in a day or so.

Summer Time

Gosh, summer is coming soon. I don't like summer very much coz' the weather in Hong Kong is so hot, around 32C to 33C in average and it is humid too, this is the worst part for me. Actually, I am a very hot-blood creature and I started to take cold shower more than a month ago, so you can imagine how difficult that I have to stand for.

However, I love sunshine coz' it's always the best for taking pictures and I can go swim at any swimming pools or lovely beaches. Although I cannot swim at this moment, I promised myself I have to learn it within this summer. My dear friends, please wish me luck and let's go swimming together some days.....

A very nice vegetarian tea house at Taipei

I did have a few recently....

In my point of view, the principles of "Wonderful Meal" are not only the taste of food but also contained food ingredients, the person you are eating with, atmosphere, restaurant services and bla..bla.bla... Therefore, I easily cried out, "the food is very nice!" if I have dinner with my very good friends at some good restaurants.

I do enjoy to have dinner with my family at home also, as both of my father and mother are remarkable house-chef. However, having dinner all together is rarely happen and hopefully my family members will spend more time at home.

Guess what he's doing?

I didn't have much expectation with いま、会いにゆきます as I had a few disappointing experience in the past.... However, highly recommended by some of my friends and I decided to give it a try last night.

Basically, the story structure looks simple but with a special "trick", the director successfully leads audiences to his dream world but with reasonable explanations in many ways. All elements in the film look so pleasant and fresh (especially the pure-face actress, Mio and village scenery) , therefore the mood is not that sad but still have enough power to make people cry.

A beautiful dragonfly

I visited my father's organic farm today and have taken some photos for the lovely insects and vegetables. In the farm, no one will use chemicals pesticides and fertilizers, which kill insects and animals, as well as pollute the environment and damage the ecosystem. Therefore, the farm called "Chi-sum" means compassion in heart and named by our Master.

"My best friend's Wedding"
